I am always sad that I don’t get as many pictures as I want to, but here are a few that I did get (or wrangle my sister in law to get for me). We were ushered up to the top of the space needle to the restaurant for a delicious (and outrageously expensive JOANNA!) feast. It was so much fun! It was clear for most of the time while we were up there, so we got to see a lot of Puget Sound and also got to watch the fog bank come in, which however cool it was to us, apparently it happens a lot there. A LOT!
Ryan, our fabulous waiter who scoured high and low for something that Abraham and Eden could eat, took our picture before we left (with our ultra fancy doggie bags). What a nice guy, huh!? We bought a cheap little camera for our trip overseas, and although it boasts a 12 mega pix/5x optical zoom it doesn’t take super wonderful pictures. I am slightly disappointed at the quality. It seems that one picture is great and in focus and sharp and the next is less than that quality and I didn’t change the settings or anything. Oh well. I digress. On to the famous fish market, Pike’s Place.
We has fun browsing this year round ‘craft’ fair, dare I say? Other than the flying fish, which did happen once while we were there, there were flower dealers and jewelry tables, and honey merchants. I even got to taste some delicious goat cheese and try the most amazing lotion BAR! I am so going to her website and buying at least one 🙂 (They also do soaps and honeys). www.moonvalleyorganics.com
If you can’t tell in the picture above, we had been up since 10:30pm the night before and around 4 or 5 o’clock their time (6 or 7 o’clock our time) we were bushed. Our faithful guides had so much more to show us, but we sadly ducked out and went to bed! But we had pleasant dreams about what awaited us the next day! The BEACH. Oh, wait? What? No swimming suits and sun screen? You wear hats and mitte… what? Oh, well! I can’t wait to go anyway!
So, we strolled along the beach in our warm jackets and hats AND mittens. We got wind burned cheeks and runny noses, but we also scored TWO fully intact sand dollars and some really cool shells. An oyster shell even washed up while we were there, which I hear is rare for that beach as they are usually in more northern waters. It was great fun to meander along the beach and run back as the tide was rolling in. And guess what! We also got to see a fog bank roll in.
We spent the rest of the weekend visiting with family and friends and getting much longed for grandma time. The boys were so sad that grandma had to bring the van back home and couldn’t get on the plane with us to come home. Maybe next time?
