Where to start? Hmmmmmmmmm
We were released from the hospital on Thursday the 14th. Arley had Friday off so we were a happy 5 for the weekend. Monday came though, and Arley had to be out of town. That was the day of the baby meltdown (and momma meltdown/exhaustion). Arley was back for Tuesday and gone Wednesdaynight again. Wednesday was Eden’s baby shower. It was wonderful, but short lived. The boys were good and got to play with some friends while the adults cooed over the babe and I walked around in a daze. After much love and support we headed to Walmart on the way home. This put us all to bed after 10 pm. Thursday, Arley came home early so I could get to my check-up kid free. Then it was home and pack the car for a 10 day vacation to Park Rapids! I was in such a daze that week that I didn’t even realize we were gone until we were there 🙂 What a way to start a vacation!
We originally thought that this would be a good time to get to know our new babe and lay low withthe fame and let the boys learn their new roles as big brothers. It was a time to hang out and think about the whirlwind that is about to happen with moving three kids and a house of stuff up to a house built for two and just recently remodeled for 4 instead of 5. Also it was a time to get a few projects done that we want to accomplish before the move. Instead, we started a completely new project and let’s just say that it wasn’t a simple cut and dry project. You know those projects that start out as, “Oh, it would be so nice if we could do this….. but then we would have to do that! And if we do that, we would have to do this and this, and we might as well do this and that too!” Yeah, on of those projects. So at the end of the week, we have moved the washer, dryer, and laundry tub with all the water lines and drain lines, moved a water heater, moved a door and widened it to 58 inches instead of 28 inches, took out a wall of cabinets, replaced a counter top and sink, moved a stove and it’s wiring, built a wall between the new dining area and new utility room, sheet rocked the new dining area, and bought all the things to re purpose a plant table into a kitchen workstation on locking casters with a trash hole. All while taking the bottom of the siding off and bending sheet metal to help protect the house from mice.
So much for our relaxing weekend. Although, we did accomplish the new roles of big brothers and taking some down time to meet our new babe and get used to a girl in the house. We also tried another new church and we are pretty impressed. The bible is breathed, the people are open and loving, the youth leader and his wife are wonderful with the kids! The only thing is that the pastor resigned weeks before we visited and so they have no pastor at this time. It is kind-of exciting that maybe we could be involved in finding someone whom is lead by the Spirit and is challenging to our spiritually growth, ect… but they have to get to that point. It has been the first church where we both felt like we were coming home though, so that is so GOD!!!!
So, now I am sitting here with a sleeping babe on my lap (wishing my camera wasn’t 10 feet away from me because I REALLY want a picture of her super cute asleep face in this light!!!!!!) with my husband away for a few more days and another trip up north brewing for this weekend to help celebrate my aunt and uncle’s (by marriage) 35 wedding anniversary and spend another Sunday at what could become our new home church. Even so, I am missing my current church family and will be uber happy to get there the Sunday after!!! OK, I need to try and reach my camera somehow. Maybe my monkey toes will reach….. Oh, and I need to post pics of the ‘damage’ for my MIL since it is her house we are ripping into 😛
The MIL trusts your judgement! I always thought that house needed to be smarter anyway! You & Arley have good judgement so no worries 🙂
